The Facility — North Country Cold Storage, Berlin NH

1327 Main Street · Berlin, New Hampshire

Built for vehicles in 1940. Still is.

This building went up as The Motor Mart Inc. — Sunoco pumps out front, General Tire on the sign — and it has had vehicles in it ever since. Brick walls, concrete floors, and doors wide enough for a boat on a trailer.

Where your vehicle actually goes

Five distinct spaces, not one big room. What you're storing determines which one it lands in.

01 — Main Bay

The floor

The big room. Concrete floor, brick walls, no daylight and no weather. Vehicles are parked in rows with the ones leaving first placed nearest the door.

  • Room for roughly 35 cars, fewer with boats and campers in the mix
  • Doors wide enough for a boat on a trailer or a 41 ft motorhome
  • Aisle-adjacent spots available with Active Access
Slot 02 · 16:9
The main bay.

02 — Adjacent Bay

The second room

A separate enclosed bay off the main floor. Vehicle spots when it's holding cars, or fifteen to twenty sleds when it's set up for the season.

  • Eight vehicle-sized spots, or 15–20 machines
  • Separate door — no shuffling the main floor to get in
  • Front row available with in-and-out access
Slot 03 · 16:9
The adjacent bay.

03 — Powersports Room

Sleds and quads

A dedicated room rather than floor space borrowed from the car bay. Machines get parked tight when they're down for the season, or up front when you're still riding.

  • Holds 5–12 machines depending on the mix
  • Packed and in-and-out tiers, priced separately
  • Indoor and dry — no cover to peel off frozen

The powersports room.

04 — Carport

Sixteen covered bays

Roof overhead, open sides. Snow stays off the deck and ice stays off the cover. The right answer for a boat on a trailer or a truck you won't touch until spring.

  • 16 bays, sized for boats, trailers and full-size trucks
  • Priced per foot for anything 16 ft and over
  • Plowed access through the season
Slot 05 · 16:9
Covered carport bays.

05 — Yard

Gated outdoor

Open storage inside the gate. Dormant spaces for things that just need to be somewhere else, and trailhead spots for riders who want their rig near the trail.

  • 15 spaces, sized for truck-and-trailer combinations
  • Pull-through — no three-point turns with a trailer
  • Trailhead spots get gate-code access and a plowed lane

Straight answers

Access and security

Here's what's actually in place right now, and what isn't yet. We'd rather tell you plainly than let you assume.

Keyed gate

The property is gated with a keyed entry and a biometric padlock. Trailhead customers get gate-code access for the season.

Cameras, this fall

A camera system is being installed. It is not live yet. When it is, we'll say so — we're not going to claim it before it's working.

Plowed all season

Snow removal is included. Lanes serving trailhead and carport spaces are kept open through the winter.

Scheduled access

Drop-off and pickup are by appointment so your vehicle goes straight to its space. Indoor retrieval during the season needs a few days' notice unless you've added Active Access.

No public access

The building isn't open to walk-ins during the storage term. That's a feature — the only people inside are the ones who should be.

We don't insure it

No storage facility insures stored property. We ask for your coverage details, or for you to confirm in writing that you're carrying none, so nobody's surprised later.

Where we are

Main Street, Berlin

Right on Main Street, easy in and out with a trailer, and minutes from the trail system. That last part matters more than it sounds — for riders coming up from southern New Hampshire or Massachusetts, leaving the rig here is the difference between towing every weekend and just driving up.

  • 1327 Main St, Berlin, NH 03570
  • Minutes from the Berlin trail network
  • Pull-through yard access for truck-and-trailer

Slot 07 · 16:9 The gate / entrance Shows how a trailer gets in. Shoot from the street looking in, or from inside looking out at Main St. Either reads as "easy access."
Gated entrance off Main Street.
Slot 08 · 1:1 You In front of the building or in the bay. Doesn't need to be formal. This is the shot that separates you from a phone number.

One person, start to finish

North Country Cold Storage is veteran owned and operated. The person who answers the phone is the person who measures your boat, parks your car and hands you back the keys in the spring. If something's wrong, you're not filing a ticket — you're calling the owner.
